Síria.

A Portuguese grape by many names.

The official name is Síria but it was previously (and more commonly) called Codega. It goes by a lot of names throughout Portugal.  In Alentejo it is called Roupeiro, in Portalegre, it is known as Alva, in the Algarve Crato and also Alvadurão do Dão. In the Douro where it is still the most planted white grape variety, Codega is the most popular name. It grows very well in hot, drought-ridden conditions and is often planted in some of the warmest sites.
